The Memorial Foundation does not make loans. All monies are issued as grants. The Memorial Foundation does not get involved in disciplinary cases or divorces because each creates their own problems. The Memorial Foundation does not issue grants for the funeral expenses for the parents, grandparents or siblings of Department employees or their spouses.
Memorial Foundation benefits are available for catastrophic circumstances affecting the employee or their immediate family. By-laws are designed to be restrictive in terms of immediate family. Immediate family means: your spouse/domestic partner or dependent child. This does not include your parents, grandparents, siblings and others, as termed immediate family according to Employee MOD language.
