Nationally, a law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty every three days. To date, 239 Los Angeles Police Officers have been killed in the line of duty protecting and serving the residents and business community of Los Angeles.
History tells us it is not a matter of if, it is only a matter of when the next tragic situation will occur that will take another officer’s life. The Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation pays for the funeral expenses and other related costs associated with these tragic events. The Memorial Foundation maintains a lifelong relationship with the dependents of these fallen officers. A college school grant is available to the surviving dependents.
